What’s new in version 2.2.1

  • Fixed Color Defaults Loading: Resolved critical issue where custom color values were always read as 0.000 due to incorrect DefaultSettings.plist structure. Colors are now properly loaded on startup.
  • Fixed Default Screen Selection: Added Screen 1 as default selection in SelectedScreenIDs to ensure the screensaver is visible immediately after installation, preventing blank display on first launch.
  • macOS Tahoe Performance Optimizations: Enhanced rendering pipeline and WebGL performance specifically tuned for macOS 15.x (Tahoe), delivering smoother frame rates on Apple Silicon.
  • Improved Settings Persistence: Restructured color storage format in DefaultSettings.plist for better consistency with ScreenSaverDefaults API.
  • Enhanced Startup Experience: Screensaver now launches with properly configured defaults, eliminating the need for manual configuration after fresh installation.

A solid update to my already fav screensaver. Now much smoother and more varied across multiple monitors. Love it.

I personally don't get any sense of "beauty of scientific visualization and the calming effect." Instead it resonates horror movie yuck. I removed it. - -> The dev's website is whacked whereby it shoves a giant "HELLO" at you, leaving a goofy cursor trail. It offers not-a-clue what to actually do there. So, click on "Goodies" and that gets you to software downloads. Note that the dev still thinks Apple uses "Mac OS X". Summary: A very eccentric, difficult, out-of-date website. Complex grotesquery screensaver, no thanks.
